Bird I.D. help

I let the doggies out on our back deck for a little bit yesterday and something scared them and they came running to get back in the house!  I thought maybe the wind have blows some leaves and they are big chickens!!  About five minutes later I went to put something out in our barn and the dogs came with me.  Kodee run up the deck steps and I seen something run across the deck.  My first thought was skunk....

I got the dogs put back in the house and rounded up the hubby to help find out what it was and get it off the deck.  It was sure scared.  I opened the gate and blocked a couple of places with the chairs and then took a seat cushion off one of the chairs to help direct it.  After about ten minutes it finally found the open gate. It never tried to fly.  It walked out into the yard and laid down for a few minutes to rest and then toddled off into the woods behind our house. 

A friend of mine emailed the pictures to a taxidermist friend of hers and he thought maybe it was  juvenile vulture.

This past weekend we made a quick trip to Pennsylvania to pick up a new work truck.  We stayed all night in Bedford.  We looked for a few things to see and do while there and found the Flight 93 Memorial.  It is a temporary one, but they are constructing the permanent memorial.  They have a chain link fence keeping you from going down to the actual site and people leave things on it in remembrance. I would love to go back and see the permanent memorial once it is done.
